Seit 1991 lebt er in Schweden und besch\u00e4ftigt sich seit sechs Jahren im Rahmen von Forschungsprojekten schwedischer Stiftungen mit der medizinischen Behandlung von Patienten im Ausland. Kirsch und seine Kollegen, die Wirtschaftswissenschaftler Prof. Erik A. Borg und Dr. Kjell Ljungbo von der Hochschule S\u00f6dert\u00f6rn, waren Mitveranstalter der ersten in Schweden ausgerichteten internationalen Medizintourismus-Konferenz 2014 und der ersten skandinavischen Medizintourismus-Konferenz 2015, beide in Stockholm.
